Things To Consider Before Buying A Niche Website

Are you looking at buying a niche website to add to your existing portfolio of sites, or to start one from new?

Such websites are simply normal sites that focus on a specific segment or niche of an existing market. While many niches may look competitive don't let that put you of from entering the same segment. Even some very obscure ones often get substantial searches, which can mean a profit to those enterprising enough to take action.

Let's run through a few points which you should ask yourself before parting with any cash.

There are course numerous places where you can purchase such sites these days by doing a simple internet search, but don't be fooled by a clever design or claims about future potential earnings.

My recommendation would be to go for sites that have at least some original content and already have a track record in terms of natural search engine rankings, which means free traffic. One other crucial part of the equation is of course some revenue stream or sometimes known as monetization.

That means monetization in a worthwhile niche, one that has been built around commonly used physical products,using the keywords or keyword phrases that internet searchers use.

That's where getting sites that have been around for at least several months has a few advantages to building one from scratch, as long as the original site owner has done his homework in terms of things like keyword research and search engine optimization.

Done right, by buying a niche website you could steal a march on the rest of the herd and forge ahead with your own ideas with the goal of increasing revenues, leads, sign-ups or whatever is more important to your line of business.

Has anyone ever told you to build niches that promote physical products? Well that's my focus as millions are looking to buy everyday products, far more than digital goods.

I have 10 websites for sale in the Wig niche, these are the domains below-please check them out if you wish. All are .org .net or .com keyword rich domains and I did the keyword research with an excellent software tool called MicroNicheFinder, so they all get decent search volume.

I'm selling these because my focus has changed and I'm busy on other projects. I'll post adsense earnings and some traffic info as soon as I can.

All were bought at the same time (from Godaddy), registered and started in May 2010, now full of lots of relevant content, like articles and videos. The Google.com S/E rankings were taken at the time of writing this post, by entering the domain names below as seperate words.

Many of them are making a small amount of adsense income. have a decent ranking as you can see, and could do a lot better with some extra SEO, article marketing or good backlinks.

Are you a niche blogger looking for some established niche sites?

Looking to add some more sites to your portfolio?

Niche websites can be quite lucrative if you're prepared to invest some time and effort into them. Or, you can jump the gun a bit and buy someone else's site, someone who's already done a lot of the 'donkey work'.

I have around 60 of them but I've over-extended myself and need to reduce this number to a more manageable figure. I simply don't have enough time to work on them all so it's an early 'spring clean'.

I've built these sites around a central topic, in batches of between 5-10. These sites were all created using Wordpress several months ago, so many of them already have some traffic, some top rankings and monetized with Adsense, CPA offers and Amazon links.

The sites I want to sell have auto content on them which means you can 'set & forget' them, but I'd still recommend posting some original content on them, from time to time. This can be done yourself or outsourced (I'll tell buyers where they can find people to do do this for as little as $2/hr-and that's what they want).

Most sites have started to make at least a little Adsense income and I can provide stats from my host, hostgator. Domains were bought from Godaddy so easily transferable.
